Mulling over our 18 years in businsss…
Gillian started trading as ‘Penhouse Design’ from an upstairs studio in Dawson Street, Dublin
The commuting from Laois started… long days, difficult decisions
Penhouse became a ‘limited company’ and we hired our first employee
We moved to Laois, rented a studio by the railway and won our first gold & grand prix design award. Leonie joined us and we are so happy to say, she is still with us today.
We moved location, over to the ‘Old Maltings’ and we dined with the architects
We converted old animal sheds and Penhouse moved to our countryside studio
Penhouse hired our third designer and we became a studio of ‘3’
We won our first government tender and Gillian won ‘Business Person of the Year’ (yeah really!!)
We won our second Grand Prix design award and got down and partied in the Gravity Bar
This was a good year for awards – winning at the ICADs, IDIs and HSMAI too! We’re on a roll now…
Gemma joined us this year and we became a studio of 4. With another 3 design awards under our belt, we celebrated our 10th birthday
Our logos started travelling the world in the “Best of International Logo Design” publication
Two pregnancies didn’t stop us and Annette joined our team
Penhouse received a “Well-being in the Work Place” award, so we figured we’re doing something right
Two of our branding projects joined the “Master Library of Logos” selected in two different categories
We celebrated our 15 years in business with an exhibition here and another one for Culture Night in Dunamaise Arts Centre (together with our young buddies in Ratheniska NS)
The National Ploughing Championships came to the Penhouse Farm – (and they liked it so much, they‘re still coming!)
An international rebranding project we designed won a ‘Best Product Relaunch’ award (which was sweet!)
We’re all grown up now – 18 this year and officially legal. Cheers for being part of our journey!
