On Friday last we had the pleasure of launching the new brand identity for Laois – You’re Welcome.
It was probably one of the most enjoyable and unquestionably the most unusual launch, presenting to an audience of masked faces! The gorgeous Dunamaise Arts Centre was the venue, which is a beautifully renovated old stone building in the middle of Portlaoise town. The theatre’s mood lighting (on-brand pink) and the great surround sound for the video play, really captured the brand mood and instantly made up for the faceless crowd, so that was good (big thanks to Nick!).
The new messaging we created for the county ‘You’re Welcome’ invites one and all to Laois. The logo we have designed is a colourful one, adding vibrancy to the county’s image. To launch the identity we created a suite of supporting imagery which will roll out over the next while digital via social media channels, profiling our welcoming messages, themed to cater for the county’s differing tourism offerings – You’re Welcome to Explore // You’re Welcome to Discover // You’re Welcome to Chill // You’re Welcome to Let Loose // You’re Welcome to Our Place // You’re Welcome to Laois
Naoise Kettle, a local film-maker, shot some really beautiful footage and created an ad to tie in with the launch of the brand.
In these strange times we are in, we are extremely lucky to be able to work with talented neighbours and collectively create material to help support and maybe even boost the tourism business in our own county. For the year of the #staycation, we’d be hoping that our new look for Laois will maybe turn a few new heads, to discover a more gentle, less obvious place, that we like to call home :)
