Make Believe – it can happen

We have been working with The Make Believers charity, since it started as an idea last year, creating their name and rolling out their brand identity. They have now been shortlisted for the AIB Better Ireland Awards for their incredible work and stand to win €5000! The winner will be decided by vote and you can vote online by going to www.betterireland.ie, select Abbeyleix branch & choose The Make Believers! Voting opens today and you can vote once every day until voting closes on March 15th. Please help them do well.

A little background…
Finn Ryan and two of her nursing colleagues formed The Make Believers charity last year. The Make Believers worked with various hospitals to identify children who are coping with terminal & long term illness, disability, social disadvantage & emotional trauma. They also had guests nominated by the Central Remedial Clinic, Jack & Jill, Anam Cara & Hydrocephalus Spina Bifida Ireland. They were very lucky to have the real Santa spend a whole weekend in Durrow last December, where he met almost 70 families who are coping with extraordinary circumstances.

The whole family was invited to meet the real Santa & his North Pole team. The magic is that this Santa knows everything about each little boy & girl he meets-just as Santa should! Of course this is because he is the real Santa & he has a little help from some very expensive technology & lots of laborious paper work by us Make Believers.. Even waiting is fun at Laois Winter Wonderland-there is lots of entertainment. They try to make it a magical day for families who don’t often get the chance to spend special days together.
