Ballymore Farm – Organic Brand & Packaging Design

This project which launched in 2012 is very close to our hearts. The Harneys have a lovely organic farm in Ballymore Eustace and we began talking to them some time ago. Their dairy cows are a good looking herd and their organic products are really tasty too, so we all wanted to give their milk, butter and yogurts some personality.

We drew a cow. We put it in their field with a couple of other cows. We added some colour, gave them a mooooobile and cut out some different label shapes to test on glass bottles and brown greaseproof paper. They took a photo, stuck it on Twitter and before we knew it they had followers and buyer requests from everywhere!

So we printed more labels (professionally this time) and within one month they were supplying many local markets and shops here in Ireland as well as grabbing the attention of Selfridges in London UK and Dean and DeLuca NY – not bad at all!

Anyone who has seen it seems to have bought it and loved it. Their organic milk ‘with cream on top’ echoes all the desires for traditional tasting food and their butter and yogurts are simply delicious. The icing on the cake came when their design won 3 awards at the IDI’s in 2012, for sustainable branding and packaging. The judges admired its long-lasting design and likability and it remains one of our favourites!
