TACTIC Branding and Design – Teenagers and Children Talking in Care

We so loved working on this project with an amazing group of young people, as well as Anne and Olive at DCYA, Olivia from Cnag ar an Doras and more recently with the guys at Tusla.

The TACTIC group (Teenagers and Children Talking in Care) was formed to advise carers and fellow children and young people in care, from children with first hand experience of the system. We met them initially for consultations and workshops, listening to their thoughts, concerns and very definite ideas of how they should be portrayed and how the material should work. We discussed styles and colour palette preferences, fonts and formats of their packs, so that we could create something they would be proud of.

The final suite of material includes their own identity with a set of branded books for different age groups, separate folder packs and a range of care-plan material. Have a look at our Children’s book here

The plan was launched in Dublin Castle on December 18th by Dr. James Reilly, the Minister for Children and proudly supported by the TACTIC group, who presented a very powerful unveiling. We like to think our role in this production will help young people, new to residential or foster care in Ireland to understand and deal with their own situation in a less scary way.
